- Users in a Funder role can use this feature.
Step 1: Log In as Funder
The only BuildPay user that can create a project is a Funder. If you’re unsure if you hold a Funder role, click here. Otherwise, using the BuildPay login credentials you chose when you first signed up, sign into the BuildPay system via the Log In screen. For this example, Scrooge McDuck is the funder.
Step 2: Creating a Project
Clicking on the “Log In” button will bring you to your BuildPay project dashboard. Here you will see all your pre-existing Projects if you have any. Clicking the blue “New Project” button will begin the process of creating a new project.
Enter your new project details. Fields with a red asterisk are required fields, and all others are optional. If you don’t have a “Project Funder Office” available in the drop down menu, please click here.
Enter the numbers for your new “Project Funds.” These numbers include the budgets for Materials, Labor, Overhead and Profit. If you don’t know the figures just yet, these can be edited or added later.
Add the contact information for the new project’s owner (and if applicable, the project’s mortgagee). Inputting their email address is highly recommended, as it allows BuildPay to send the individual an email inviting them to sign up for the BuildPay system, or if they’re already a member, inviting them to view the details of your new project. Click the “Create Project” button at the bottom of the screen to continue.
This will bring you back to your main BuildPay Projects dashboard, where you will see your new project as well as any pre-existing projects that your BuildPay credentials are associated with. The new project is not yet started, and is the subject of another FAQ.
